Juniper Networks Network Connect is a secure, layer-3 SSL VPN client originally developed by Neoteris and later integrated into Juniper’s Secure Access (SA) platforms. It creates an encrypted tunnel over standard HTTPS, allowing remote users to access internal network resources and run client/server applications as if they were on the corporate LAN. Network Connect can be launched from a web session with the VPN gateway or installed as a standalone client, and it is designed to work through firewalls and NAT with minimal configuration.
Key capabilities include role-based access control, split tunneling, endpoint/host checking for compliance, and integration with common authentication systems such as LDAP, RADIUS, smart cards, and multifactor solutions. While widely used for remote and mobile workforce connectivity, Network Connect has been superseded in newer deployments by the Pulse Secure (now Ivanti) client, though many environments may still reference or maintain it.
